Olympic Torch Run

pic of the week 2/14/02

"This was a historical day for Juneau, Alaska on January 24th 2002.  The Olympic Torch came through the Capital of Alaska for the first time ever.  It was carried through different parts of Juneau and eventually came down to the Gastineau Channel.  The flame carried by torch bearer, Ethel Lund, boarded a Tlingit canoe and a group called the Tlingit Warriors paddled the canoe a portion of the route.  This was one of the many photos I made during the Olympic Torch Run in Juneau.  If you would like to see more of the Torch Photos Click HERE.  After the torch left the canoe it continued through downtown Juneau."
