'I took this photo at the Auk bay Recreational grounds in Juneau on 01/01/01 at 1:00pm.  The Polar Bear Dip is an annual event in Juneau started by six people in 1994 with nothing better to do on new years day.  Well, it turns out that a lot of people have nothing else better to do on new years day because now they get a crowd of around one hundred people who want to take the plunge.  The temperature this day was in the high 30's.  Maybe I'll try it next year . . . or maybe not.'
