Pic of the week 1/31/01

"This is one of the views that a lot of people in Juneau, and around Alaska, drive by all the time.  This particular view can only be seen for about three seconds, on Back Loop Road in Juneau, as you drive past Montana Creek.  The more you go toward the Mendenhall glacier, the trees get in the way and it doesn't look quite the same.  Even though you see this view for only a few seconds as you drive by, the beauty is there when your not looking.   I've seen this view many, 'three seconds', before and decided to stop on the side of the road to make it last longer with a photo.  Its kind of like that saying . . .'Take time to stop to smell the roses'. "
