Slush  Cup

Slush Cup Action

pic of the week 4/19/01

"This was an interesting event.  Here in Juneau there is a ski area called Eagle Crest.  At the end of the season, Easter weekend, they have a 'carnival' and do all kinds of fun stuff.  One of the events is the Slush Cup, in which people ski down one of the hills and then ultimately try to ski across a big slushy puddle.  These two participants, Pat Shanley (front) and Matt Mielke, put a little twist on the event by skiing down and across, both on one set of ski's.  Here, I took a picture of them as they were coming to the end of the puddle, spraying water onto the crowd."
